What is Sleep Deprivation?

Sleep deprivation is a condition that occurs if you don’t get enough sleep. Sleep deficiency is a broader concept. It occurs if you have one or more of the following: You don’t get enough sleep (sleep deprivation) You sleep at the wrong time of day.

Sleep apnea

Sleep apnea is a serious sleep disorder in which breathing repeatedly stops and starts. The most common form is Obstructive Sleep Apnea. OSA occurs when the soft tissue in the back of the throat relaxes causing your airway to narrow. When your airway repeatedly becomes blocked it limits the amount of air that reaches your lungs.
